Measurement Specialties, Inc. has just improved its existing board level pressure sensors, the MS4525 and MS4525DO, by adding a new vacuum pressure reference type. It is available at the 15psi pressure range in single sideport (SS), top port (TP) and dual sideport (DP) packages. Typical applications for use with the MS4525 and MS4525DO vacuum pressure sensors include medical instrumentation such as wound care, cosmetic instrumentation such as acne treatment and vacuum system process controls.

For the analog version (MS4525), full vacuum output is 4.5 Vdc while zero vacuum output is 0.5 Vdc. The digital version (MS4525DO) at full vacuum has an output of 14,746 cts while at zero vacuum has an output of 666 cts. Both models have an accuracy of ±0.25 %span and a TEB (Total Error Band) of ±1.0 %span. With an operating temperature range of -25°C to +105°C and a temperature accuracy of 1.5°C, the MS4525 and MS4525DO feature an output pressure resolution of 14 bits and an output temperature resolution of 11 bits making it the ideal sensor for many vacuum applications.
